The BFA team participated in the sixth edition of the South Summit 2019 event in Madrid, one of the largest reference meetings for entrepreneurs and investors, held between October 2nd and 4th.
The event was attended, at the BFA stand, by the startups Norlean, DTView, VMS and Help-Flash. On their own, Situm, Muutech and VAX3D also participated.
The South Summit event has become a benchmark for innovation by bringing together different actors in the ecosystem to contribute to improving their competitiveness. In 2018, more than 2,000 attendees and more than 6,500 startups were counted.
Among the speakers who participated in this edition, include figures such as Paul Misener, vice president of Amazon's Global Innovation Policy; Ciaran Quilty, EMEA Vice President for Facebook; Jennifer Kanyamibwa, senior director of strategy and product design operations on Twitter or Juan de Antonio, founder and CEO of Cabify. One of the novelties in this edition was the new space, called Demo Stage, to encourage open innovation among startups, corporations and large companies.
As part of the fair, a contest is held every year that rewards the best startups, Spain Startup-South Summit. In this edition, 3,700 projects were presented, of which 100 were selected as finalists by a committee of 150 experts. Among them, was Situm Technologies, a participant in the second edition of the BFA, which was one of the finalists in the Transport and Mobility section.
